“Let me tell you something. A driver don’t pick the car. Car picks the driver. It’s a mystical bond between man and machine.”
When I heard the words of the great Bernie Mac (“Bobby Bolivia” from the first Transformers movie) start off the trailer for Bumblebee, I knew I was about to watch something great. I wasn’t wrong.
The first trailer for director Travis Knight’s Bumblebee is here and if you got goosebumps watching it, you’re not alone. The trailer just landed and already the minds of fans are being changed. The look and tone are reminiscent of the The Iron Giant. The excitement factor reminded me of the first time I saw the Transformers trailer. Both of these are reasons to breathe a sigh of relief. There’s a handful of cool aspects we get to see like Bee’s 80s version of his VW / robot form, John Cena looking like he means business, and let’s not forget about that glimpse of Starscream!
As a die hard fan, count me in when Bumblebee rolls into theaters this December.

Trailer gives me goosebumps every time I see it. I’m glad they went with the original style bug. Even Bumblebee in his transformed state is fantastic.
