COD Zombies: Rave in the Redwoods

“An abandoned summer camp, deep in the woods. Four stranded companions…..will become the life of the party.”

Say what you will about the Call of Duty franchise (or it’s multiplayer fickleness), but the zombie portion has been a pretty big hit with fans. Now, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s first downloadable map for PS4 has arrived and we’re just dying to play it. The map pack is called Sabotage and among it’s included goodies is the new 90’s-themed zombies co-op mode called “Rave in the Redwoods” that could quite possibly be their finest DLC  yet. Don’t believe us? Just take a look at the video above. And yes, adding The Crystal Method’s 90’s rave-fueled, strobe light-induced hit “Busy Child” to this trailer is definitely the icing on the zombie cake!

From the video, you can get the broad strokes of what you’re in for. An eerie, deserted lakeside camp (cue the ch-ch-ch ah-ah-ah’s) and hordes of zombies pitted against our brave heroes: Sally, Poindexter, AJ and Andre – all fresh from their zombie adventure in Spaceland. But zombies are not the only evil out there. Willard Wyler is lurking with a few more tricks up his sleeve. Good thing our heroes have some fresh threads and kickass weapons. Don’t worry about leaving the light on when playing this mode either as it’s rave-ness kicks up a notch with disco lights, glow sticks, and “hey man” psychedelics!

Now to one of the most awesome parts about Rave in the Redwoods is Mr. Kevin Smith! Yup you saw the end of that trailer right, that’s the iconic director himself…..playing himself! According to Venture Beat, “Smith was cast as himself, as a kind of 1990s icon. Just like the protagonists, Smith has been catapulted straight into another twisted horror film helmed by Willard Wyler.”

The Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Sabotage DLC is available now for PS4 for $14.99. Xbox One and PC gamers will have to “stay tuned for Sabotage release dates” per Activision.
