E3 opens it’s doors to fans for the first time ever and Nerd Fu will be there to cover the action! Before the event begins, we thought we’d introduce you to the convention and outline our plans for this ‘bucket-list’ level event.
E3 is the world’s premier event for computer, video and mobile games and related products. At E3, the video game industry’s top talent pack the Los Angeles Convention Center, connecting tens of thousands of the best, brightest, and most innovative in the interactive entertainment industry. For three exciting days, leading-edge companies, groundbreaking new technologies and never-before-seen products will be showcased. E3 connects you with both new and existing partners, industry executives, and the biggest fans of video games providing unprecedented exposure to emerging markets. E3 is where it all starts.
E3 takes place June 13-15, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
WHO ATTENDS E3
Traditionally E3 has been reserved for “industry” folks. This means developers, buyers, retailers, distributors, press, etc. were the only ones allowed at the show.
Companies from 11 bit studios to Youcanstar are listed (alphabetically) as exhibitors this year, but there are a few that we are super excited about. Bethesda, Capcom, Engadget, GameSpot, Hasbro, IGN, Microsoft, Nintendo, Psyonix, SEGA, Sony, Square Enix, Telltale Games & Ubisoft stand out of the list, which includes several hundred companies.
This year marks an entirely new opportunity, as E3 is opening it’s doors to the public for the first time in the history of the annual event. 15,000 tickets were set aside for fans and we were amongst the first in line to grab our passes.
Just outside of the Los Angeles Convention Center (only a short walk away), video game’s biggest fans, developers and special guests will come together at the E3 coliseum.
We are excited to announce that the ESA and E3 are teaming up with producer Geoff Keighley (The Game Awards) to introduce the E3 COLISEUM, a spectacular main stage that brings video game fans closer to their favorite games and creators. – via e3expo.com
The E3 COLISEUM takes place on June 13th and 14th at The Novo at L.A. Live and will feature industry icons Chris Hardwick, Neil deGrasse Tyson, James Gunn, Larry Hryb, Jack Black, Ivan Reitman, Ed Boon, and many, many more.
One of the most unique aspects of E3 is how much of the content is shared outside of the convention itself. Unlike traditional comic-cons (San Diego Comic-Con, Emerald City Comicon, New York Comic Con, etc), where the panels are really just for fans in attendance, E3 goes out of its way to make sure that the content is shared with the world outside.
EA, Microsoft, Bethesda, PC Gamer, Ubisoft, Sony, Nintendo, Intel. All the big names will be available to stream on your device/TV. The livestreams run from Saturday, June 10th to Thursday, June 15th and almost every one of them can be viewed on Twitch!
