The King made his presence known in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend. Warner Bros. showed up and treated fans to the first full trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters – the follow-up to 2014’s Godzilla.
There’s an interesting and delicate contrast in what we see in the trailer and what we hear, thanks to “Clair de Lune” being played over most of the trailer – and somehow it works perfectly. Some of the new faces we see in this world are Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Thomas Middleditch and O’Shea Jackson Jr. which is quite the cast. We find out that humanity has a new threat which is sent to fight us (basically) as we have become an “infection” on Earth. Thus begins a spectacular roll call of monsters, both on land and in the sea. Judging by the trailer and interweb chatter, the big showdown may possibly pit the big guy against a certain three-headed behemoth. We’ll watch that any day of the week!
Godzilla: King of the Monsters stomps into theaters on May 31, 2019.
