Max Landis Talks Superman and Superheroes

In 2013, Max Landis posted the video above to YouTube to get some very near and dear sentiment off of his chest about Superman and superheroes in general. It seems like a crime to not post this again with the recent reception (both positive and negative) that Batman V Superman has gotten.

Some of you may be like Max who? I admit, I asked the same question awhile back. The first time I heard about Landis was on Nerdist’s Bizarre States podcast. After that I looked him up and discovered the last name is thanks to his father being none other than acclaimed director John Landis (Animal House, Trading Places, Coming to America). He’s been heavily involved in writing and consulting in TV, film and comic books. Some of the films he has written are Chronicle, American Ultra and Victor Frankenstein. He possess’ a strong comic book background as well, for example, the seven-issue mini-series called Superman: American Alien (2015-2016) was penned by Landis.

After checking the internet here and there, it seems that folks are on the fence about Max Landis due to his highly opinionated – if not passionate – outlook on certain things. Love him or hate him, the thoughts he expresses in this video are not so far-fetched when it comes right down to it. While I don’t agree with every single word, I did agree and understand why he said some of the things he said in this YouTube video.

In the end though, it’s all up to what you think because that’s really the only opinion that matters. Please feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments.
