Pacific Rim hit theaters on Friday and, as one of the fans who made sure this was an opening weekend event, I have to say it was AMAZING! There were so many WOW! moments in the film that I’m really surprised someone’s head didn’t explode. (in the audience I mean – there were definitely some head explosions in the movie).
To wrap up their Pacific Rim Print Series and celebrate the release of the film, Odd City Entertainment has one final artist to announce – Todd Slater.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Operating out of a converted garage studio on the outskirts of Austin, Texas, poster artist Todd Slater is prolific as he is piercingly inventive. He has created hundreds of dazzling posters featuring some of today’s hottest musicians, including Radiohead and the Killers, to limited edition prints based on cult classic movies.
Todd gave insight into his inspiration for this project, “When I first began seeing the early images for Pacific Rim, I was immediately struck by the scale of the Jaegers versus the humans. These pictures served as a reminder of how fragile human life is and I decided to create my image around this thought. I wanted to depict these giant machines as the protectors of humanity from the mysterious beasts that have emerged from a portal beneath the ocean.”
