Our friends at 3D Light FX, who we’ve had the pleasure of working with on several Nerd Fu giveaways, have been on the scene for a few years now. You might remember some of their amazing products from fandoms like Transformers & TMNT, not to mention Marvel. Now, they’re heading to a galaxy far, far away to bring us the next MUST HAVE 3D deco lights. That’s right, it’s time for Star Wars.
Several of the Star Wars 3D Lights are out now and available for purchase (more on that below). Darth Vader, Yoda & Boba Fett are already flying off store shelves and we were lucky enough to get our hands on a Darth Vader to review.
Darth Vader 3D Deco Light
At first glance, the Darth Vader 3D Deco Light is exactly what you would expect. Deep, dark black plastic with clean lines and the cold, emotionless stare of a Sith lord. The light looks like it was pulled straight from the big screen.
But the dark side doesn’t have to be so dark, really. Darth’s menacing black will stand out on any wall, even without the light on, but flip the switch and Vader comes to life with an AMAZING red light that glows through the eyes and mouth. I released a big “whoaaaa” when I first turned on the Darth Vader light. I really hadn’t expected it to be red or THAT bright.
I’ll soon be creating a shelving space for all of my Star Wars Funko Pop!’s and Lord Vader will have a special place amongst the sea of vinyl. Pics to follow.
The Force is Strong at 3D Light FX
As we mentioned above, Darth Vader is one of a few Star Wars 3D lights available now and he certainly won’t be the last of the series. The box we received and the 3D Light FX web site reveal many more lights are on the way.
Personally, I am SUPER excited about seeing more of the Death Star (the way it lights up is A-Mazing) and the Millennium Falcon light that they tease in the Coming Soon! portion of their web site.
Where to Purchase Star Wars 3D Lights
You don’t have to make the Kessel Run to find a 3D Deco Light. Several Star Wars 3D lights are available now at Target stores and Target.com.
Also, for those of you lucky enough to attend, look for 3D Light FX at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) and other conventions around the U.S. For more information on when and where they will be, follow them on Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram.
