You Bet Your Chimichangas We’re Excited About the ‘Deadpool’ Movie

You know how sometimes you find yourself rooting for the bad guy in a story? Well Marvel’s Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, has LEGIONS of fans cheering him on. Pretty much all time. No matter if he’s fighting the undead or taking out just about everyone in the Marvel Universe, Deadpool wins hearts and minds the world over. And for quite some time now fans have begging for Mr. Wilson (haha…Mr. Wilson..) to explode onto the big screen. We’ve seen what could be in Wolverine: Origins via Ryan Reynolds – who in my opinion rocked the Deadpool role early on – and that was enough to show us how bad we wanted to see him in a film of his own. At last, someone heard our chanting.

Although it hasn’t even started filming yet, there are a few details already. According to EW, we’ll see the directorial debut of Tim Miller (VFX for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) and for me the most exciting news…….Ryan Reynolds will be back to play the Merc with a Mouth himself! Now, before you reach to change the channel, let me just say that I actually found him to be great as Hal Jordan in The Green Lantern. He was great as Hannibal King in Blade: Trinity as well. Then when he picked up duel swords in Origins I thought to myself: “Yup. He’s got this down.” It’ll be interesting to see the different directions they may take with this new film and the character. Here’s more for EW –

EW has confirmed that Fox has slotted a Deadpool movie onto an official release date: February 12, 2016. The film will still star Reynolds–who will almost certainly be playing a different version of the character from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which you’ll recall was erased from history by Days of Future Past.
