It’s been a looooong time since Spawn hit the big screen. And well…while it was cool to see one of my favorite comic book characters in the big time, it was kind of mediocre. But lots have changed in the realm of digital effects since 1997. The announcement above, made very recently by creator Todd McFarlane on his Facebook page, has offered a sigh of relief that maybe some things will be corrected this time around. Big questions are raised now on who he could be talking about for the leads. Will it really be Oscar winner? Will be about Al Simmons? Or will it be more about Jim Downing? And the villain(s)? We’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for more info on this for sure!
Are you excited or would rather not see ‘ol Spawnie back on the silver screen? Sound off in the comments below!
I always thought it was a great story, but I think the troubles of the first movie could easily be repeated, better CG or not. It’s not easily translated to the big screen. Just like any other superhero (however SPAWN is classified) we need to see more of who he is outside the costume to like him and care about his character. John Leguizamo can return as the violator though.
