After 30 Years, Ferris Bueller Still Remains King of the Ditch

He’s the high school icon we’ll never forget. You can call him “Late for Class”, call him “The Sausage King of Chicago”, or just simply Ferris. Call him whatever you want, just remember Ferris Bueller will always be “King of the Ditch”. The guy who showed us what it meant to truly take a day off from school.

30 years later here we are celebrating the anniversary in our own ways of John Hughes‘ classic film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off that starred Matthew Broderick as the title character who just wanted to show his girl Sloane and best pal Cameron (Mia Sara, Alan Ruck) a good time. Now that’s a friend. The film is hilarious and shows the outrageous but ingenious planning Ferris takes to execute the ditch of all ditches while avoiding determined but bungling school principal Mr. Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) and envious sister Jeanie (Jennifer Grey) – both try to catch him once and for all. The characters were all “so choice”.

Not mention the inclusion of this guy…..

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

….or this guy for that matter. This guy was awesome.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

So what are you waiting on? Watch Ferris Bueller again. Do it for yourself. Or better yet…..show it someone who thinks they haven’t seen anything good.
