Firefly Cargo Crate – May 2016 Reveal/Unbox

The second Firefly Cargo Crate from Loot Crate & QMx is here, featuring the ‘Verse’s most menacing mercenary, Jayne.

In March we got a chance to review the first crate (featuring Kaylee) and were super-excited to find out that the next crate would be all about Adam Baldwin’s character from Firefly/Serenity. We weren’t about to jump ship on the subscription service.

WHAT IS THE FIREFLY CARGO CRATE?

The Firefly™ Cargo Crate is a mystery subscription service delivering a collection of 5-7 exclusive Firefly collectibles, including shiny figures, cunning apparel and other such finery every 2 months. Every crate has a $65+ value! The best loot in the Verse — For Browncoats, by Browncoats. Engineered by Quantum Mechanix, Powered by Loot Crate.

FIREFLY CARGO CRATE – HERO OF CANTON UNBOXING

For our second trip through the ‘Verse, we knew we had to celebrate the best “public relations” representative on Serenity: the hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne! As the song goes, our love for him now ain’t hard to explain.
After all, no one represents life on the raggedy edge better than Jayne Cobb. He’s a mercenary, prone to shooting first and never really bothering with the questions part. He has an affinity for grenades, a problem with authority and a very cunning hat.

Let’s play one of our favorite games – WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!!

Ultimately, you get to decide whether or not the Firefly Cargo Crate is SHINY or not, but you still get my opinion. I think this second outing for the Firefly subscription box is even better than the first.  I really love the Mini Master figure, the Q-bit Mini Mystery Shepherd Book, the flask and the pin. I’m also a big fan of the shirt design, but not so much the cut or color of the T-shirt. That’s OK though – every item can’t be the best in the ‘Verse.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE FIREFLY CARGO CRATE

This time around, we didn’t get a preview of the next crate. Well, it wasn’t listed in the book that came in the crate anyway. A little investigation on the Loot Crate website revealed the following image, which is a pretty big hint, or is it.
