Fans of The X-Files will be thrilled to know that Fox announced that the show will return for a new 10-episode run. The news was made even sweeter with the additional announcement that David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will once again return as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. The show’s creator Chris Carter is also returning as well. The president of Fox – David Madden – made this statement regarding the show’s return:

Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files. – Entertainment Weekly
We love the show and even though it’s initial revivial carried some mixed feelings, you can bet we’re going to be right there watching our favorite agents again! The new 10-episode run has production scheduled for this summer and should air during the 2017-2018 season.
