Gears of War 4 BETA Dates Announced

Gears of War is one of the few game franchises that has earned my respect and undivided attention. I’ve owned them all and played thousands of hours, including the campaigns (which I never bother with on other games). I’m eagerly awaiting the release of Gears of War 4, and hopefully I’ll get to take part in the BETA, which we finally have dates for.

Gears fans, the wait is almost over.  We know you’ve been eager to see what’s in store for the future of Gears multiplayer, and next month we’re excited to give you the first taste and an opportunity to help shape the multiplayer experience in Gears of War 4 with the launch of our global Versus multiplayer beta, exclusively on Xbox One. – via GearsofWar.com

Early Access Begins April 18th – Fans who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox One or Windows 10 will begin to receive tokens (in waves) for early access to the BETA. The timeframe for players to qualify for early access has been extended. Simply log on to Xbox Live (via Xbox One or Windows 10) and play GOW: Ultimate Edition by 11p.m. PDT, April 11th.

Open BETA Begins April 25th – Starting 4-25-16, all qualifying Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One will be invited to join the beta until it ends on May 1.

Gears of War 4 at PAX East (April 22-24)

April is going to be a very busy month for Gears of War fans. In addition to the BETA, The Coalition will be headed to PAX East to share more about the upcoming game.

The Out of the Shadows: Inside Gears of War Multiplayer with The Coalition panel on Sunday, April 24 at 10:30am in the Albatross Theater featuring a deeper dive in Gears of War 4 multiplayer and some special surprises. We’ll also be offering up some great prizes to any of our fans who turn up in Gears of War Cosplay! Gears fans who can’t make the show can take part in the fun from home LIVE on the Gears of War Twitch channel.

Fans at PAX East will also be treated to Gears of War 4 Versus multiplayer, located in the Xbox Booth.
