At least that’s what James Bond author Anthony Horowitz said about his feelings on Idris Elba taking over for Daniel Craig. When DC finally hangs up his well-tailored suit, Elba is the name that’s been pretty much on the top of everyone’s list for a new Bond.
Now, I’ll be honest. I was never really a fan of James Bond but I know it’s it garners high acclaim. I’ve seen bits and pieces of Craig in action and I think he’s a fine actor both as Bond and in his other roles. With Elba, I’m a big fan. I admit I’ve seen way more of Elba than Craig but that’s just the way it is. It wasn’t on purpose. I think Elba would make a great Bond. Would I watch? Yeah probably more so this time around. I know I’m not the only one on Team Idris though. They guy’s got the whole suave thing down, his voice cadence is superb, and his physical presence can be what James Bond has been lacking. I know Bond isn’t supposed to be an overly big guy but that doesn’t mean a re-imagined version of the super spy has to have the same physique right? And yes….the ladies dig him.
So back to Anthony “Foot-In-The-Mouth” Horowitz and his lukewarm remark about Idris. The guys at Collider think his comments maybe have been taken out of context. Maybe not. However, they’re also quick to voice their opinion that Horowitz might have been better off using better words. After all as master of pen and ink (though he probably uses a word processor we’re sure), Anthony Horowitz has been around the grammar game before. As of right now, Horowitz has tweeted out an apology about this remarks towards Elba (see below) and hasn’t tweeted again.

What do you think? Just a little something taken out of context? Is Idris Elba an excellent choice for a new Bond? Let us know in the comments below and until then…..we’ll be keeping our ear to the street. The concrete “street”. See Anthony? That wasn’t hard.
