As fans of actor Jeremy Renner (did you see The Hurt Locker?!) playing Clint Barton’s Hawkeye perfectly, Sully and I enjoyed the sneak peek we got in from him in Thor and then really enjoyed his bigger role in The Avengers. After that, rumors surfaced (then sank) that we could possibly see a solo movie for our favorite Marvel archer in a team-up movie with the Black Widow. Although there’s more talk lately of the Widow getting her own movie, we still are anxious to see how big Renner’s part will be in Age of Ultron next year.
We could be getting more screentime with Hawkeye though after Ultron! Talking with Collider, Renner hinted that he may have to free up some time for Captain America 3. Here’s a little more of that conversation:
“There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man (laughs). I’m trying to stay home and I can’t.”

SuperHeroHype also did some investigating of their own. They tapped the shoulders of directors Anthony and Joe Russo for a little chat on The Hawk showing up in Cap 3:
“Unfortunately we can’t (comment),” Anthony said, “It’s too specific to what the movie may be.”
Joe did chime in and teased, “There are certainly characters that Cap is close to or has a strong relationship with that would make sense appearing in his films. I think that’s all we can say about it.”
Looks like S.H.I.E.L.D. got to all 3 men first and now everyone’s lips are sealed. Time will tell. We know it seems far away but look for Captain America 3 to come to the rescue May 6, 2016.
