A new year. A new month. A new crate. The January Loot Crate, themed Invasion, has landed and I literally took it from the mailbox to the table for photos. Sure we get a Loot Crate every month, but things are changing with the subscription box service. You’ll see what we mean in our our newest unbox/reveal – below!
This month’s crate has a wide variety of items celebrating pop culture classics from 1951 to 2106 and many years in-between.
After a 14-year break, The X-Files is infiltrating our TVs once more. To mark the occasion, we partnered with Treadless to find the perfect shirt design. And speaking of shirts, there will be t-shirts in every Loot Crate going forward.
WHAT IS LOOT CRATE
Not familiar with Loot Crate? For under $20 a month, they deliver a box of Geek & Gamer gear valued at over $40. Shirts, stickers, collectibles from companies like kidrobot, Funko, Quantum Mechanix, etc. and random fun stuff like sunglasses & socks. All the gear is nerd/geek themed and every month is like Nerd Christmas.

As always, the Loot Crate team came through with an assortment of nerdy/geeky stuff that we might otherwise have never seen, or in this case, even had access to. Every single item in this box was an exclusive! How awesome was that. My favorite items were the Alien Facehugger Plush, the Space Invaders Vinyl figure and the new Pin. I really think nice pins like this are about to become a hot collector’s item.
THE NEW LOOT PIN IS HERE!
** “Beginning this month, you’ll see a new and improved, cloisonné style collector pin in every crate! Each pin unlocks something epic, but you’ll need to go to lootcrate.com/pins to unlock the surprises.”

Could one of those collectible figures be a Pop!, or maybe another awesome vinyl figure from Titan or kidrobot. Stay tuned & be sure to check back often. We’ll be sure to update you if we see any updates.

It’s been a while, but I don’t recall the facehuggers looking that friendly in the film!
Maybe there was a children’s version we missed. Ha!
A sesame street version!
That is a cool idea. I wouldn’t mind getting some Bert & Ernie or Big Bird stuff. Plus, there are Pop!’s for Sesame Street.
