‘Pacific Rim Uprising’ – [ TRAILER ]

When Kaiju threaten to literally stomp human life out of existence once again, it’s time to fight monsters with monsters of our own. Skeptics can say what they want but it’s impossible to not watch the first trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising without turning the volume all the way up! Personally, I can admit that I was a little worried when GDT stepped away and I was SUPER bummed when Charlie Hunnam had to turn the project down. After watching this, I can say that I’m 100% all in. I’d buy IMAX tickets now if I could.

Pacific Rim may not have been loved by every fan, as I know a lot of folks out there like to gripe about the look of the first film, but I don’t care. The first film was totally badass, had great lines, incredible action (without looking cheesy too) and a killer soundtrack that kept you pumped. While we may be missing some (not all) players from the first film, fans should be able to rest easy knowing that John Boyega and Rinko Kikuchi are ready to bring the pain next March. It’s also a fantastic move to have Boyega come in as the son of Idris Elba’s character Stacker Pentecost. Well done. Another epic pull from the Pacific Rim Uprising trailer is getting to see the upgraded and brotherhood of Jaegers that are ready to fight the more evolved (and bigger looking) Kaiju. Time to cancel the apocalypse again!
