We all saw The Wolverine and for the most part it was a pretty great film starring one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel universe. It would seem that Hugh Jackman was born for and owns the role nowadays and what he’s done with Logan can be held right up there with Christian Bale’s Batman. I did find a few things in The Wolverine that maybe could have been better but to me, the overall film was great.
According to Deadline, David James Kelly (who was on board for the now semi-dead Daredevil flim reboot) will be penning the script for the sequel and James Mangold will return to direct. They even go on to say that Hugh Jackman will bare his claws again with the film opens, at least for now, on March 3, 2017. Given the roar of applause Jackman had last year at SDCC, we get the feeling that fans won’t have a problem with that.
Fox has hired David James Kelly to script the next installment of The Wolverine, the X-Men franchise spinoff that James Mangold will direct with Hugh Jackman reprising his signature role. The studio is eyeing a March 3, 2017, release.
