Comic-Con’s Hall H is a place of Legend. It’s where the biggest crowds gather (the room holds around 6,500 people) and the biggest reveals happen (think Avengers). Over the last few years, it has also become the biggest gamble to get into. The true fans line up MANY hours before the convention even opens, in hopes of snagging a good seat.
This year was no different. The NerdFu crew lined up at midnight the night before and slept on concrete for the chance at something wonderful in Hall H and we were NOT disappointed.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES
Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a huge success, so a sequel was greenlit, but the movie’s director (Rupert Wyatt) and one of it’s biggest actors (James Franco) would not return for part two, so what would we get?
Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Felicity) strolled out on stage at Hall H and brought out several stars from the new film – Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Lawless, Gatsby), Keri Russell (The Americans, Mission Impossible 3, Felicity) and Andy Serkis (Lord of the Rings, The Prestige, The Hobbit).

Then, we saw a teaser trailer for the film. Of course, we weren’t allowed to film it, but we can tell you a few things. The movie is set 10-15 years after the end of Rise, it is focused around Caeser and, from the look of things, the apes have already begun to dominate the world. Filming is still underway, but what we saw looked pretty incredible.
THE WOLVERINE
Next up, the one-and-only Hugh Jackman came out on stage to talk about The Wolverine.

Hugh talked about reprising the role of Wolverine and those lucky enough to get into Hall H were treated to an extended trailer for the film.
Hugh’s time on stage seemed to be coming to an end, but then, something amazing happened. We’ve covered it in our next article and I’ll give you a little hint >>> X-Men.
