With the highly anticipated release of State of Decay 2 on the horizon, fans are definitely gearing up for more Zed killing antics. However, those looking to pick up the game’s Collector’s Edition should be aware of one important aspect of the $69.99 purchase – it doesn’t come with the game.
Though we’ve seen this act of leaving out the game itself in special editions in the past, there are a few rays of sunshine gamers can keep in mind. One is that the standard edition only costs $29.99 which not a bad price at all for a new game. The other positive factor is that Xbox Game Pass members will be able to play State of Decay 2 without having to purchase any version of the game. It’s included in the program.
As a huge fan of the game myself, I’m bummed that the game isn’t included because the items in this edition do look pretty sweet. I’ll still be able to joyfully take part in supplying headshots and crowbar dental work to all the Zeds I come across in-game though. Okay so if the Collector’s Edition doesn’t come with the game, then what does? Glad you asked…
- A latex zombie mask
- An exclusive steelbook case
- A human brain steelbook stand
- A USB “severed thumb” drive
- An exclusive State of Decay 2 iron-on patch
The mask looks really detailed so great job there and you have to admit that the “thumb” drive is a nice touch! According to Microsoft, fans can pre-order the State of Decay 2 Collector’s Edition from their favorite retailer. The game drops May 22.
