Court was in session for the elusive Kingdom Hearts 3 game by Square Enix earlier. Today during their press conference, SE gave the crowd something they had been waiting on for years – a more polished glimpse at Kingdom Hearts 3…finally! During the publisher/developer’s gameplay trailer (seen above), we’re shown worlds that look a little familiar and a nice little tease of future surprises for Sora. Take for instance the part where Sora transforms the Keyblade into dual-wielded pistols! I know right?! Sweet!
Per a write-up over on IGN, Square Enix has confirmed “Kingdom Hearts 3 will feature a level based on Disney’s Tangled.” Not bad, not bad. I was hoping to see some Marvel or Star Wars characters make quick appearances but I guess not. There were rumblings that Disney’s Infinity may have the lock on those franchises for that game but hey – sharing is caring right? I can’t see why they wouldn’t toss a bone to Kingdom Hearts 3. There’s an awful lot of characters in those worlds to go around.
I’m super hopeful for more worlds to be introduced to us like in the past. You can pretty much bet on it, but again, it would’ve been cool to see. As a fan of the franchise, I can honestly say that I’m looking forward to playing this when it finally ready. I’ve waited this long….I can wait a little longer.
