The Iron Giant Deluxe Figure – Shadow Variant

We first caught a glimpse of The Iron Giant figure at MondoCon in 2014.  It was Mondo’s first venture into the toy biz and they weren’t messing around. The figure was as beautiful as it was big and really captured the spirit of the character and the movie.

Since then, Mondo has expanded their line and it looks like we’ll be getting a lot more than posters and albums from them in the future. Today, they took things to a whole new level with the reveal of The Iron Giant Deluxe Figure – Shadow Variant.

THE IRON GIANT DELUXE FIGURE – SHADOW VARIANT

The Iron Giant was one of our favorite animated movies to come out of the 90s and in the spirit of that decade, we imagined what it would be like if there was a more extensive toyline for the film. Often toys would come out in funky variations, like ‘Lava Punch’ this and ‘Ice Shield’ that, and with this in mind we created The Iron Giant Shadow Variant. It’s a “stealth” version of the friendly robot, while still keeping the aesthetic slick and inline with the original design.

As with the original version, the Shadow Variant features over 30 points of articulation, a variety of accessories including two interchangeable heads with light-up eyes, a magnetic “S” that can be detached from a Seafood sign, and “War Arm,” all within the stealth color scheme. The figure also includes a Hogarth mini-figure and sound feature with favorite Iron Giant quotes from the film.
